Liu Xuan Qi’s choice of the Lion as the main subject in his paintings is motivated by a few reasons.
The lion is also a form blessing and goodwill. Historically, representations of the Lion are found can be fronting ancient temples of different cultures and religions. Xuan Qi is inspired by the protective connotations that come with this figure.
