This beautiful painting by Singaporean artist Wang Mo Ping is inspired by the little things he sees in life. Every time he navigates through Jurong Fishery Port late at night, he would always be moved by the scene of people hard at work, with the backdrop of fresh seafood. Though the painting is two-dimensional, he wishes that viewers could see the minute details such as the texture of the crabs.
In 2015, Cape of Good Hope Art Gallery organised a solo exhibition by Wang Mo Ping titled “Nanyang Sensation”. In 2019, his painting titled “Jurong Fishery Port” won 1st place in the western oil painting category at the annual Dr Tan Tze Chor Art awards organised by the Singapore Art Society in 2019.
