Mr Tan Oe Pang is widely recognised as one of today’s most innovative ink painters, celebrated for his bold techniques and dynamic compositions. Trained by renowned Chinese ink master Fan Chang Tien, Tan soon developed his own distinct style, driven by a desire to redefine traditional approaches to art.

Tan’s paintings have been widely exhibited in different parts of the world. For instance, they were showcased at the International Biennial of Arts in Sao Paolo in 1985, The International Biennial of Arts Valparaiso in Chile in 1989 and the international Biennial for Ink Painting in Shenzhen, China in 1992. Significantly, Mr Tan Oe Pang was invited to by the Beijing Art Institute to have a solo exhibition at the China Art Museum in 2001. In 2011, 20 paintings by Mr Tan were donated to the National Gallery Singapore and an exhibition of his paintings was held at the Singapore Art Museum.
