Many Singaporean artists are interested in painting Bali and Koeh Sia Yong is one of them. He has always been interested in painting Bali sceneries and in these ten to twenty years he had painted quite a number of such paintings.

Koeh Sia Yong graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1958. Many of his iconic paintings can be found at the National Gallery Singapore including “Here they come” which depicts street hawkers running away law enforces and “Persecution” which showed terrible scenes of the Sook Ching massacre during the Japanese invasion.
