This beautiful painting by Tung Yue Nang depicts the establishments at the iconic crossroad of
Club street and Ann Siang road. Tung Yue Nang incorporates the aspects of western painting such as emphasis of light and shadow in this painting, as seen on the exterior walls of the shophouse on the left of the composition.
Tung Yue Nang was awarded the first prize at the Annual Dr Tan Tze Chor Art Awards Ink Painting Category in 2002, 2014 and 2019. Cape of Good Hope Art Gallery organised a solo exhibition for Tung Yue Nang in 2014 titled Silence: Ink Paintings by Tung Yue Nang.
