Apart from his street scenes of Singapore and countries in Southeast Asia, Marvin is well known for his depictions of villages and seascapes. He feels a sense of serenity while illustrating these beautiful scenes of nature and looks to share that similar peaceful ambience with viewers through these creations. Being one of Singapore’s few remaining preserved villages, Kampung Lorong Buangkok is one of Marvin’s most frequented areas when he decides to paint outdoors.
Marvin Chew’s painting titled “Sunlit Paradise” was accepted in the National Watercolour Society 101st International Open Exhibition 2021, marking it his third acceptance in the event. With this achievement, the artist is now eligible for signature membership.
