Mr Lim Leong Seng expresses the fading memories and the vanishing impressions of these hardworking women. The Samsui women played a prominent role in Singapore’s early development as a modern nation. This sculpture and the “Daily Life” series were developed in 2015 in conjunction with the SG50 celebrations.

There have been many large scale sculptures installed by Mr Lim Leong Seng - 37 to be exact. Some of which include “Lantern Procession” and “Indian Settlers” which can be found at Telok Ayer Green as well as “School Time Memories” at Far East Plaza.

Lim Leong Seng has also created sculptures out of repurposed everyday objects. One of which includes a piece titled “New Era” in 1976. It was remade in 2022 and exhibited at the show “Nothing is Forever: Rethinking Sculpture in Singapore” organised by the National Gallery Singapore. Mr Lim also had a book launch titled “Lim Leong Seng: Journey from the Wilderness” at the National Gallery Singapore during November 2022.
